Alterations & Additions to existing dwelling, originally sheltered within a shoe factory reconversion.
Hidden opportunities is the overarching characteristic for this project.
Indirect light wells to enhance the space, inner courtyards and private patios, dynamic ceiling heights and a Juliet's balcony opening up towards the living area, are just a few of the features.
From their first meeting with Evissa, Maureen and John knew they made the right choice. They approached Evissa seeking to refurbish their 146m² Brunswick abode, including two new bathrooms, a new kitchen, new flooring, windows and doors, plus some reconfiguration of the internal space.
Evissa did this – and more, unexpectedly discovering hidden opportunities to enhance the light maintained within a darkened area. Changes which added considerable value to their property. It was this insight and proactivity, as well as Evissa’s honest communication and regular detailed progress reports that made the project experience so enjoyable.
The simplistic rectangularity of our intervention triggered an unique name for this project, Hanging Box.
